All 8th graders and parents
IGP Conferences/Swansea High School Freshman Academy Registration
The week of February 22-26 will be for Individual Graduation Plans (IGP) and Swansea High School Freshman Academy Registration conferences. All parents and/or guardians of any 8th grader need to sign up for an appointment time. The conferences last approximately 20 minutes and include designing an initial IGP, registration for high school classes, review of current standardized test scores and grades. Parents will receive a high school registration guide, copy of the tentative schedule and Explore test results. Parents will also be asked to complete a survey of Sandhills Middle School for the State Department of Education. Appointments can be made through the office (926-1890). In an effort to involve all parents the guidance department is offering extended hours.
Appointment times are as follows:
Monday, February 22: Times are available from 8 am - 6 pm
Tuesday, February 23: Times are available from 7 am - 6 pm
Wednesday, February 24: Times are available from 8 am - 7 pm
Thursday, February 25: Times are available from 8 am - 6 pm
Friday, February 26: Times are available from 8 am - 5 pm
In the event a parent or guardian is unable to attend any of these times, they may designate another adult to attend (including a teacher or counselor). Designee forms will be sent home with students.
All conferences will be in the portable to the left of the school. Parents will not need to enter the school.

Tack conditioning to begin on February 2 from 4-5 p.m. at the high school. All interested in running track must have a physical on record. For more information contact Coach Marlon Smith at Swansea High School, 568-1100. If a student needs to ride the bus to the high school, they must see Coach McCants for paperwork to be submitted prior to February 2nd.
